Reasons Winter Sucks: 2009 edition
Episode 1: In which I must choose between asphyxiation and hypothermia.
It is said that indoor air is quite a bit nastier than outside air. I find this to be especially true of the bi-level's dungeon, which is generally the only area in the the bi-level in which it is permissible to smoke. Because the dungeon has no doors to the out-of-doors, there is not even the intermittent waft of fresh air reaching the pseudo-living space. So Flint and I are faced with a choice: surrender to the evils of the nasty dirty air, or turn on the attic fan and suck in the frigid fresh air, thereby adding an additional billion dollars to our heating bill.
Today, we chose life.
